“Reflections: An Exhibit of Artist Self-Portraits”

"...with coffee" by Gary Moses

The favorite subject of some of our most revered artists was often…themselves.  Picasso, van Gogh, Kahlo, Rembrandt – all painted multiple self-portraits.  As did Warhol, four-up on the same page of course!

For their first exhibit of the year, ArtsEast has challenged regional artists to explore and discover their personal identities and recreate them through the medium of their choice and we couldn’t wait to see what they come up with!   Participating artists to date include: Kevin Boylan, Peter Alan Bryan, Tom Dimond, James Dumble, Amelia Ettinger, Alexandra Fuller, Jeanine Gekeler, Laura Hansen, Karen Kevan, Charles Koehler,  Gary Moses, Sue Orlaske, Linda Peterson, Mark Thompson, Brenna Tyler, Linda Schreiner, and Dave Yerges.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be January 13th from 5 – 8 PM.  It will also be available to Art Walkers on the 19th from 5 – 7 PM.

The ArtsEast Gallery is located in the Community School of the Arts Building, 6th Street and “L” Avenue, on the EOU campus.  Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM.
